Absolutely enjoy visiting your gallery, Susan. I sometimes go through your area and easily see the charm of it all. You captured the humidity and the quiet beauty. Looks like a great place to paint. f/v

Thankyou so much Warren, RC and Joan. I have a confession. When I submitted this to the AAC for the Plein Air show, it was pointed out in the judges comments that I needed to finish the right side of the roof! I've done that, but have to reshoot.

Artist's Description

Apalachicola Museum of Art..Solo Exhibit
Honorable Mention, Atlanta Artists Center Plein Air Show, August 2012
This old oyster shucking house has not been active for years, I believe it was damaged by a tornado some years ago. It is still part of Water Street Seafood, one of the largest seafood wholesalers in our area. These buildings are right on Scipio Creek, Apalachicola. This plein air painting was made standing on the rickety dock which serves as the shrimp shell dump point. Please visit me on facebook susan l richardson

About Susan Richardson

Susan Richardson

I'm a painting fool. I'm obsessed. Always driven to be the best at whatever I was doing, painting is now pushing me harder and harder. Always an entrepreneur I have been involved in many different business adventures, the most successful of which was Stick It In Your Ear, art to wear jewelry design, manufacture and wholesale. Each piece was signed and dated, so now you can find my jewelry on Ebay as 'vintage jewelry'..the 90's seem like yesterday. Over 70 paintings accepted into juried shows in GA and FL. Won Best Emerging Artist, Forgotten Coast Plein Air, 2011. 5 HM in Atlanta Artists Center, Gadsden Arts Center Annual 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014. Creative Tallahassee 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015.
