I love her expression and the title! And of course the painting is marvelous!

Susan Richardson replied:

Thank you so much Kathy. The title says exactly how she spoke to me when nearly finished. She is eyeing you, somewhat critically, wherever you are standing.

Belinda Low

Belinda Low

Great work, Susan! I am admiring portraits now as they do bring out the personality of the person from the expression brought alive on canvas!

Artist's Description

Juried in to Atlanta Artists Center, Sept. 2011, received Honourable Mention.
This is based on pictures I took in Cuzco, Peru. These people are descended from the Incas. The women all wear tall white hats, and all seem to have a stoic expression when they are no longer children. The children smile a lot. This lady was sitting on a stone step in one of the very narrow streets in Cuzco. If you haven't been there, put it on your list. Magical place.

About Susan Richardson

Susan Richardson

I'm a painting fool. I'm obsessed. Always driven to be the best at whatever I was doing, painting is now pushing me harder and harder. Always an entrepreneur I have been involved in many different business adventures, the most successful of which was Stick It In Your Ear, art to wear jewelry design, manufacture and wholesale. Each piece was signed and dated, so now you can find my jewelry on Ebay as 'vintage jewelry'..the 90's seem like yesterday. Over 70 paintings accepted into juried shows in GA and FL. Won Best Emerging Artist, Forgotten Coast Plein Air, 2011. 5 HM in Atlanta Artists Center, Gadsden Arts Center Annual 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014. Creative Tallahassee 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015. One woman show Apalachicola Museum of Art...
