Lovely subtle tones and soft brushwork - this is a beautifully nostalgic piece. My pick for DFM&N for October 20.

Artist's Description

Atlanta Artists Center, November 2010
Apalachicola Museum of Art - Solo Exhibit
On the Move, Dawsonville Center for the Arts, December 2012
Where the Apalachicola River meets the Apalachicola Bay. Apalachicola was the third largest port on the north coast of the Gulf of Mexico and even housed a French Embassy. The river was the road. In the mid 1800's Cotton warehouses lined Water Street and tenders hauled bales out to the schooners anchored outside St. George Island. When the cotton trade moved, Apalachicola went into decline but was re-energized with the lumber industry. That, too, declined when most virgin growth was cut, so the working waterfront is now seafood houses. The tug was on loan to BP after the oil spill in 2010. Luckily, no oil contaminated our shores.
Tied for 4th Place. FAA Transportaton Vehicles Contest. 348 submissions, June 2014.

About Susan Richardson

Susan Richardson

I'm a painting fool. I'm obsessed. Always driven to be the best at whatever I was doing, painting is now pushing me harder and harder. Always an entrepreneur I have been involved in many different business adventures, the most successful of which was Stick It In Your Ear, art to wear jewelry design, manufacture and wholesale. Each piece was signed and dated, so now you can find my jewelry on Ebay as 'vintage jewelry'..the 90's seem like yesterday. Over 70 paintings accepted into juried shows in GA and FL. Won Best Emerging Artist, Forgotten Coast Plein Air, 2011. 5 HM in Atlanta Artists Center, Gadsden Arts Center Annual 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014. Creative Tallahassee 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015. One woman show Apalachicola Museum of Art...
